Shane completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Justice Ronald E. Nehring of the Utah Supreme Court in 2011. He speaks Spanish fluently, and he frequently provides pro bono legal advice to members of the LGBT community at the Utah Pride Center’s Rainbow Law Clinic. In 2015, 2017, and 2018, Shane was named among Utah's “Top 40 Under 40” by the National Advocates, and in 2017, he was named as one of Utah's “Up and Coming” Legal Elite by Utah Business Magazine. Shane has also been named as a “Rising Star in the Mountain States” in the area of family law by SuperLawyers magazine in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Shane was the recipient of the 2010 “Stephen Pierre Traynor Outstanding Legal Writing Award” and a “William H. Leary Scholar” at the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law.
