Kayla Quam has a deep-rooted passion for family law—a passion that is apparent in her work. Kayla's chief aim is to help make the best of a difficult time for her clients. Because of that, she works tirelessly on behalf of her clients, recognizing that Utah family law involves the most pressing and emotional issues a client will face.

Prior to law school, Kayla worked for a family law attorney and volunteered in child abuse and neglect cases as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Her love of family law led her to the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law, where she graduated with honors, was a note and comment editor of scholarly legal articles published in the Utah Law Review, she was a top finalist in Traynor Moot Court competition (twice named best oralist therein), and she competed as a member of the school's Negotiation Team. Kayla also gained considerable experience participating in various clinics and internships during law school, including at the Guardian ad Litem's Office, Legal Aid Society, the Utah Court of Appeals, and the Third District Court. Kayla was nominated by the school's legal faculty and awarded the David T. Lewis Clinical Award for her work in those clinics. Since graduating, two of Kayla's scholarly articles have been published: Unfinished Business of Repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell": The Military's Unconstitutional Ban on Transgender Individuals, 2015 Utah L. Rev. 721 and What Employers and Employees Need to Know about the FMLA, Zions Community Magazine (January 2016).
